Infamous "Flair" in Dark Tones

The bronze head draws me in and defines this space with a richness.  The sculpture seem to soften the sharp edges and layers the space with complexity.  Flair works with understated art work, but their placement is worthy of note.  I think it becomes special because the palette has recurring themes.  The enormous mirror is edged is an animal print that becomes bold and graphic when positioned with a black and white print pillow.

A black, textured, leather mirror with brass accents in an octagon shape.  I love the pairing of silver and gold.  The chrome lamp provides a counterpoint to the brass and establishes a coolness that refreshes and lightens the bulk of the grouping.  I really like the formal nature of this setting with the heavy patina of the sculpture.

The black Plexiglas lamps are lovely and substantial with a brass bases. The mat black lamp shades really provide the accent to make them pop as an object. I rarely think of pairs of lamps, but for me this would be the exception. Jinga anyone? Flair, in Soho. is in the process of redesign and the new look opens August 29th.  The post-modern nature of the store is high 60's and 70's design. But the aesthetic vision is contemporary with a mixture of brass and chrome with the black and white artwork. The real creme de la creme is their collection of table and floor lamps.
